Reaching young people for Christ through sport
Local Ballymena Volkswagen Car Dealership Edwin May have recently sponsored two football kits and 25 footballs for local Coaching4Christ Community League football teams CFC Ahoghill and CFC Fourtowns.
The new kits have already been in use and are already becoming the envy of all other C4C teams. So on behalf of the players and coaches of C4C we thank Gareth Mills and the rest of the guys at Edwin May for their kindness and generosity.
Newtownabbey Development Centre this year decided to make fitness one of their focus areas for their P6/7 development squad. We all know how important it is to maintain a good level of fitness, and that is never more true when playing football and being able to last the whole match, especially having the ability to hold on to a lead in the last 15minutes or coming from behind to win in the last minutes.
This year we decided to bring Andrew Law, a strength and conditioning fitness coach, on board to help us out and to create fitness drills that are specific to footballers. [Read more...]
Running over four weeks, Coaching4Christ (C4C) has developed a Grassroots Cricket Development Program for those in P6 – P7 with our qualified cricket coach, Stevie Lazars (ECB Qualified).
The program is open to both boys and girls with a maximum intake of 25 participants. Get in contact now to register and avoid disappointment!

The Newtownabbey Development Centre welcomed Alan Nixon from Athletes in Action to our P6/7 training session on Thursday 29th September. Alan took the Newtownabbey Development Centre for a goal keeping session. This included a lot of ball familiarisation exercises, encouraging all the children to manoeuvre the football around their bodies without the ball dropping to the ground.
