Summer Camp Report: Larne

From Monday 5th – Friday 9th July, a team of C4C coaches held a Summer Camp between Ballynure and Larne, hosted by Wendy and Uel Davidson from Larne Baptist.

In an out of the way field off the Larne line the team of 7 coaches, led by Stevie Blair, arrived and began to set up for the first night. From then on in, the camp saw around 30-40 kids and teenagers come through and take part over the course of the week. There were even some familiar faces from Ballyduff!

Wendy and Uel earlier on in the day were holding a Holiday Bible Club at their home, and so the majority of the kids went to both events. Each and every one of them were an absolute delight to work with! Their enthusiasm was infectious and all the coaches had a really great time coaching, and playing, football with them.

Each night a short epilogue was brought to them and to their credit they all sat brilliantly and listened intently to what was being said. The last night 2 testimonies were brought from Ian Turk and Andy Harris about how Jesus had affected and changed their lives for the better, and how through Him, they can know salvation and have an everlasting relationship with God.

On the last night, Wendy and Uel held a BBQ for everyone involved in the week and it wasn’t long before kids, and coaches alike, were getting stuck in to the burgers and hot dogs!

Thanks first and foremost must go to God for how He led the C4C team to this camp and how He blessed the week abundantly! And secondly, a big thanks to Wendy and Uel for inviting us along and making us so welcome, and allowing us to be part of their week of outreach. May God continue to bless them as they reach out into their local community.
